What began as a passion project in 2014 has evolved into one of Canada’s comprehensive beauty education institutions.
Alana founded Graceful Lashes with a vision of providing exceptional eyelash extension education while raising the standard of professionalism within the beauty industry. Her commitment to hands-on learning, mentorship, and student success quickly earned the academy a strong reputation.
As demand grew, so did the academy’s curriculum. Training expanded beyond lashes to include brow artistry and additional beauty certifications, leading to the rebrand as Canada’s Lash & Brow Academy.
The new name reflected the academy’s rapid growth and its reputation as a trusted destination for beauty professionals looking to expand their skills and careers.
By 2021, the academy had evolved far beyond lashes and brows. Students were traveling from across Canada and internationally to train in permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, advanced skin treatments, and beauty business development.
The academy had simply outgrown its name.
To reflect its expanded programs, national reach, and long-term vision, Alana rebranded the company as Cosmopolitan Academy.
Today, Cosmopolitan Academy offers comprehensive education in permanent makeup, esthetics, lash and brow services, advanced beauty treatments, and business coaching through flexible in-person, hybrid, and online learning experiences.

The transition to Cosmopolitan Academy represented the organization’s growth into a full-service beauty education institution.
