Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer financing?

We do! We understand that taking any course can be a big financial investment for our students and we strive to ease the financial pressure by offering financing services through “iFinance” for Canadian students as well as “Sezzle” for both American and Canadian students. We will be introducing a US finance partner shortly.

Do I have to bring a model?

Yes, our students are to provide their own model, preferably someone you are comfortable to perform a service on and understands they are there for your learning purposes. Model sessions can take up to 3 full hours.

Where are you located, when is the course date?

We offer courses in several different locations across Ontario (Barrie, Toronto, Niagara & London) with many course date options available. Please go to our website, select your course, your preferred location, and then select the dates you wish to attend your course. We also offer courses via Zoom all throughout Canada and the US or online at your own pace if time and place is at all an issue.

Is the kit included? How will you send me the kit?

Yes! Most of our course registrations include a starter kit (exception of Brow Lamination and Lash Lift). That kit will include products exclusive to your course to get you started. We also offer optional upgraded Expert kits and pigment packs. Any in class registrations will receive their kits inclass. For Zoom or online courses, we will ship your kits to you once your registration has been processed so you have your kit before the course starts.

How old do you have to be to take a course?

For our PMU courses, we require all students to be over the age of 18. For our other non-invasive courses, such as lash extensions, lash lift, and brow lamination, any student under the age of 18 is not permitted to miss a school day to do so without written permission from the school for a missed class day.

Why are your courses shorter than others on the market?

We offer intimate class sizes which allows us to move through the course material more efficiently. Our goal is to make our courses both time and cost effective. That being said, we want our students to feel 100% comfortable before working on the public, so we offer an open door policy and Free Follow Up Training which allows our students to participate in the same course over again until they feel confident because we understand while the courses are standard they are fast.

Are your courses taught only in English?

Yes, at this time our courses are only taught in English. If our non english speaking students require a translator we ask you arrange this prior to your course date and speak with our training coordinator for future detail and instructions.

Do I need any pre-existing licensing or education to take your courses?

Our courses are perfect for all experience levels! No prior licensing, education, or certifications are required to enroll in our courses. We do let our students know that they are responsible for obtaining information on their local rules & regulations regarding licensing and permits before offering services as every State and Province has its own guidelines that need to be followed.

Do you offer private training sessions?

We do offer private courses for an additional fee. Please contact our training coordinator for further details and inquiry.

Where do I purchase more products when my kit runs out?

All products retaining to our courses are available for purchase on our website. Post certification, students will also be entitled to a 15% off student discount. We encourage our students to continue to purchase and use our products to ensure your products are Health Canada approved and regulated.

What's the difference between Microblading, Microshading, and Nano Brows?

Microshading, also referred to as ombre or powder brows, is a technique done using a machine with a single needle to create fine pinpoint “pixels” of pigment throughout the brow creating a filled in or powder like look. Both Microblading and Nano brows are used to create natural looking hair like strokes, the major difference being, microblading is done with a handheld tool consisting of several small needles and nano is done using a machine and a single extra fine needle. Because of it being done with a machine and single needle, Nano brows are known to be less traumatic for the skin resulting in easier healing and longer lasting results, though both techniques have their own unique benefits.

Why don’t we use pre-made fans for volume lashes?

The biggest benefit to using handmade fans opposed to pre-made fans is the full control it gives the lash tech to create a unique look tailored to their clients wants and needs. Every client you meet will have a different set of natural lashes- some thick and full, some more thin and sparse- creating your own fans gives you the ability to make fans as big or small as desired to achieve the desired look based on the natural lashes at hand.

Lip Blushing

What is lip blushing?
Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that enhances the lips' natural tint and shape, giving them a boost and a glossy touch. It's designed to define and outline your lips, not to actually make them fuller. It gives the illusion that they're fuller, but in a very natural way. It's more or less like microblading for your lips!

How long does lip blushing last?
Between 2 and 5 years, depending on how carefully you follow aftercare instructions and how many touch up sessions you have.

Do's and Don'ts before a lip blushing appointment
DO: Bring pictures/lipsticks in order to show to your cosmetic tattoo artist the color that you want. Take a preventive tablet on the day of the appointment if you are prone to coldsores.
DON'T: Consume alcohol, caffeine, fish oil, Vitamin E, aspirin and ibuprofen as they cause the blood to thin and will result of more bleeding during the procedure.

Do's and Don'ts after a lip blush tattoo session
DO: Use a lot of lip balm to keep your lips moisturized. Plan a follow up appointment with your permanent makeup artist.
DON'T: Pick your scabs. Never! Also, avoid sun exposure and workouts for around 2 weeks. Do not eat spicy food in the 48 hours following the session.

Microblading

IS PERFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATES:

Those with hair loss or lack of definition, thin brows caused by years of over-tweezing, those who have undergone chemotherapy or have been affected by alopecia, scars, lengthen/shorten or correct asymmetry, those with active lifestyles or for those who simply do not want to apply conventional makeup.

Microshading

IS PERFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATES:

Furthermore to the traditional microblading technique the microshading is fantastic for clients who have sensitive or oily skin.

Clients undergo a full consultation where they are in full control of the colour being chosen as well as shape. The technician learns intense colour theory that they will apply to help the client understand skin tone along with proper hair colour for them. Every colour is custom blended by the technician and ok’d by the client for their individual's needs before the Nano Brow/Precision Eyebrow Tattoo procedure is started.

Technicians are fully trained in not just colour theory but also designing the shape of the eyebrows. They learn extensively face shapes, facial symmetry and mapping and measuring out the perfect brow using the Brow Quad Ratio. Only a technician with extensive knowledge of the face as a whole will get a perfect shape and keep facial harmony each and every time.
